Salary: $1,400 per month
Pathlight School is the first autism-focused school in Singapore to offer the national curriculum together with life readiness skills. It caters to students on the autism spectrum with related conditions, aged 7 to 18 years, who are cognitively able to access national curriculum but require additional support such as smaller class sizes, special accommodations and teaching staff trained in autism.
The Youths For Autism (YFA) program (https://yfa.autism.org.sg/) provides an opportunity for you to contribute to the social services or special education sector and acquire skills in:
- Fundamentals of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Interacting with individuals with ASD
- Interpersonal and communication skills, collaborating closely with our professionals (Educators, Allied Health Professionals, Job Coaches)
- Observe and gain first-hand experience in classroom management
As a YFA Intern, your Impact and Contribution includes:
- Providing effective class support to students with ASD using the 5 features of an ASD-friendly classroom
- Providing 1:1 behavioural and learning support to students who require added support
- Collaborate with our Teaching staff to prepare teaching materials and resources for lessons and workshops
- Contribute to school-wide projects, co-curricular activities (CCAs), subject and event committees as assigned
- Any other responsibilities assigned by your Supervisor
REQUIREMENTS
· Min. GCE ‘A’ Levels/Diploma
· Desire to learn about autism and to serve the autism community
· Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in English
· A team player who possesses a positive attitude, is self-motivated and proactive
· Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
